The service refers to an initiative of Lewiatan (Polish Federation of Industrialist). Lewiatan organised two training courses:

  • The training course “Getting ready for investment” for helping young entrepreneurs in “selling” their business proposition to risk capital investors;
  • The training course for early stage fund managers.

The first one addressed young entrepreneurs, in the process to, or having already started up a business, committed to raise risk capital from external investors. The 4 day course was held in Warsaw. Business modelling, business planning  and business pitching were the core themes of the course. The "pitching session", a simulation of the presentation of the business idea to potential investors, carried out in the classroom but with real risk capitalists attending, concluded the course, providing valuable feedbacks to the presenters/attendees to increase their capability to raise risk capital.
The second one  addressed Professionals coming from business consultancy or from business financing interested in becoming Seed Fund analyst or Seed Fund managers and analyst with no more than 1-2 years of investment experience. The 8 days course was held in Warsaw. The following topics have been approached during the training:

  • Financing tool for innovation; screening and selection criteria, due diligence, valuing the enterprise and structuring the deal;
  • Reporting to investors and exit preparation; co-investors.

As far as the first training course was concerned, META Group prepared the detailed syllabus of training courses and delivered the training. The training was delivered through Lectures, group exercises, international case studies, discussions, simulations. Further to this META Group performed an evaluation session to assess the result of training.
