Luigi Amati

President, CEO & Co-Founder of META

Luigi Amati is President, CEO & Co-Founder of META. Mr. Amati has been actively involved in the company’s development since its founding in 1993. 

For over 20 years META has completed more than 800 high-profile projects working with over 300 clients incl. European Commission, World Bank, Interamerican Development Bank, European Investment Bank, national & regional governments, development agencies, public & private investors, start-ups & entrepreneurs and invested over 60 million Euro in over 100 start-ups. 

Under his leadership META evolved from a local consulting boutique in Italy to the international investment & advisory group with the comprehensive business platform consisting of META Advisory, META Ventures, META Academy & Globe Forum that answers virtually every entrepreneurship-related need of those, who are at the forefront of the development of knowledge-intensive regions.

Mr. Amati serves on the Advisory Group to the European Commission for 2020 Horizon Programme - "Access to Risk Finance". He is also a member of the Board of Directors of Business Angels Europe (BAE), a member of the Board of Directors of IBAN – Italian Business Angels Networks Association and a co-founder and a member of the Board of Directors of Italian Angels for Growth, one of the fastest growing business angels groups in Europe. 

Formerly, Mr. Amati was a member of the Board of Directors and Vice-President of European Business Angels Network (EBAN) and a member of the Board of Directors of The European Association for the Transfer of Technologies, Innovation and Industrial Information (TII).

Mr. Amati graduated summa cum laude with Civil Engineering Degree from the University of Rome. He also holds M. Sc. in computational mechanics, from Aeronautics Dept. of Imperial College of London University.

Andrea Di Anselmo

Vice-President and Co-Founder of META

Andrea Di Anselmo is a founding member and Vice-President of META and has the key role regarding the Business Unit Economic Development, as a Senior Consultant. Taking in consideration his professional experience and key areas of expertise, Andrea Di Anselmo focuses on innovation and Regional policy, representing META on all the major assigments.

Mr. Di Anselmo supervises implementation of assignments and interacts with clients as project director and helps promote the company within international associations and bodies, bringing a high level contribution through his activities as Senior Expert.

Being also the President and the Legal Representative of INSME International Network for SMEs, Mr. Di Anselmo manages to bring his expertise to the table, after decades of experience in his field.

Also an active Member of the Board of Directors in several organizations, such as INSME, ISRIM (Research Institute dealing with Advanced Materials), TI (European Association for Innovation and Technology Transfer), Sviluppumbria (the RDA of the Umbria Region) and IBAN (Italian Business Angels Network), Mr. Di Anselmo expertise is a strong asset in the field of innovation support and services, company creation and acces to early stage finance.

Mr. Di Anselmo has a cum laude Degree in Civil Construction, Specialization in Strcutural Design, from the University La Sapienza, Italy, and is a certified trainer for facilitators for the KauffMan FastTrac course, the Kauffman FastTrac Training and has a certificate in Project Management – ISP S.R.L. Imola.


Anna Amati

Vice-President of META

Since 1993 Anna is founding and managing partner of META, an international company with a consolidated experience in the innovation sector, from policies to tools, integrating assistance for economic development, dedicated services for the creation and acceleration of knowledge intensive companies and management of risk capital tools, in Italy and abroad, through META Ventures, the financial company of the Group.

Architect, innovator facilitator, she has acquired more than 20 years of experience on economic development policies and mechanism supporting innovation of companies and territories, with a particular focus on technology transfer and spin-off creation. Italian coordinator of the Global Entrepreneurship Week for the Kauffman Foundation and coordinator in charge of GEC Milan 2015. She is a member of the Board council of ITALIA Startup, with a mandate for Education. Member of the Administration Board of the LV.EN. Holding and member of IAG, Italian Angels for Growth, Anna is also Vice-President of META Group and board of member of META Ventures.

Since January 2016 she is a member of the Administration council of the “Teatro Stabile dell’Umbria” and member of the Scientific Board of Italian Institute “Treccani”. Mentioned by Wired among the ten most innovative Italian women of 2015 and winner of the International award “techno-visionaries 2016”.

Key Speaker and testimonial at panel discussions on Entrepreneurship and innovation, member of business plan competition in Universities in Italy and abroad. Married with Claudio, Anna has three children, Leonardo, Riccardo and Camilla.

Jacek Błoński

Partner & Head of Polish Office, META Managing Partner, META Ventures INGENIUM Poland

Jacek Błoński is Partner & Head of Polish Office of META and Managing Partner of META Ventures INGENIUM Poland. 

Mr. Błoński is responsible for the development of META activities in Poland & CEE region. He also serves as Fund Manager of INGENIUM Poland, the early stage co-investment fund with committed capital of 80 million PLN.

Before joining META in 2012, Mr. Błoński was CEO of Lewiatan Business Angels, the largest business angels network in Poland operated under Polish Confederation of Private Employers Lewiatan. Prior to joining Lewiatan Business Angels, he worked as a consultant in Simon Kucher & Partners, the global consulting firm, an analyst in Enterprise Investors, the leading PE/VC Fund in CEE and as Head of Product & Price Planning in BMW Group (Poland & Germany) being responsible for BMW and MINI range.

Mr. Błoński serves as Independent Board Member of Business Angels Europe (BAE). Previously, he was Vice-President of European Business Angels Network (EBAN). Mr. Błoński also collaborates as an expert with Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Technological Incubator in Lublin, Poland and Go Beyond Ltd, an international business angels network with investor groups in Switzerland, France, Italy and the US.

Jacek Błoński is an alumni of IESE Business School, where he finished Advanced Management Program and an alumni of Singularity University. He also holds B.A. and Master Degree in Financial Management from Higher School of Business – National-Louis University in Nowy Sącz, Poland.

Alessia Melasecche Germini

Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer of META

Alessia Melasecche Germini is a partner and Board Member of META, where she operates as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Currently

Ms. Melasecche Germini manages the DG Research & Innovation, framework contract ESIC, Exploitation Strategy and Innovation Consultants, providing exploitation related services to projects financed under the thematic priority of Nanosciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and new Production Technologies (NMP).

Having a strong and experienced background in the economic field, Ms. Melasecche Germini is in charge of running the Global Entrepreneurship Week in Italy, this event being the world’s largest celebration involving innovators and job creators who launch start-ups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. This event reaches global scale and is comprised out of 153 countries from all over the world.

Being also engaged as an Expert in the Business Innovation Observatory, with more than 10 years of experience in acting as Consultant, Expert and Manager in international innovation and R&D projects co-funded by the European Commission and other national and international donors, Ms. Melaseche Germini managed to become one of the leading experts in her domains.

Throughout her career, Ms. Melasecche Germini has been the Board Member of TII, Europe’s premier independent association of technology transfer and innovation support for professionals, and was engaged by the European Commission as Independent Evaluator of the DG Connect ICT FP7_2013 call and by the Research Executive Agency of the H2020 SME Instrument PHASE I and PHASE II.

Ms. Melasecche Germini is also a Member of Réseau du Pays du Groupe Visegrad, the Association that groups European Universities and Research Centers and deals with the transformations that have occurred to the European economic, social and cultural system.

Ms Melasecche Germini graduated and specialized in Economy and Business, having an international PhD on Internationalization of SMEs and for several years she was an Adjunct Professor of Marketing and Public and Non-Profit Companies Organization, at the Faculty of Economy and Business, University of Studies Perugia, Italy.
