The NYSE Euronext Foundation, a leading sponsor of Global Entrepreneurship Week since it was launched in 2008, is again looking to big plans for November.
During GEW 2011, the New York Stock Exchange is hosting the finals of the
Global Student Entrepreneur Awards for the first time -- on Wall Street at the center of the financial world. The GSEA Finals brings together aspiring and inspiring high school, university and graduate student entrepreneurs from around the world to compete for the title of “Student Entrepreneur of the Year,” $150,000 in cash and in-kind business services, and access to the global Entrepreneurs’ Organization (EO) network to grow their businesses and skills.
Focusing on the U.S.,
Movers & Changers moves into its third year as mtvU and NYSE again team up on the nationwide challenge to uncover young entrepreneurs who want to make it big. The top 5 finalist business plans are posted online for voting and the winning team is flown to New York City during Global Entrepreneurship Week where they ring the bell at the New York Stock Exchange and attend the NYSE Movers and Changers Forum. The winner also receives $25,000 in seed money to help his or her company start off on the right foot.
Previously, the Foundation has lined up all-star entrepreneurs to speak at its Global Entrepreneurship Week events, including: Russell Simmons, Snoop Dogg, Blake Mycoskie of TOMS Shoes, Peter Thum of Ethos Water, Linda McMahon of WWE, and Carl Schramm of the Kauffman Foundation. Stay tuned for their GEW 2011 lineup.
